BalletCorps Company is the performance pathway for students who want to take part in the school’s growing season of productions.

BalletCorps is one school and one community. Junior Company and Senior Company are rehearsal divisions that allow dancers of different levels to work efficiently while remaining part of one united performance program.
Every BalletCorps student receives focused, high-quality training and is a valued part of the school, whether or not they choose to perform.

No routine Saturday rehearsals
Rehearsals are built into Friday Company Day, allowing families to retain their weekends.
No additional production fees
Families pay only normal Company tuition. There are no additional participation, production, or rehearsal fees.

Junior A + Junior B
Junior Company combines the school’s two junior levels. Working alongside more experienced dancers gives developing students a glimpse of what comes next and invites them to rise to a new challenge.
More experienced dancers benefit by returning to simpler material with greater attention to placement, musicality, coordination, and technical clarity.
Intermediate + Advanced
Senior Company brings Intermediate and Advanced dancers together for shared technique, repertoire, and production work.
The combined structure encourages artistic maturity, refinement, leadership, and responsibility to the full Company.
Company Day changes with the season
During production periods
Company Day is used for choreography, staging, rehearsal, musical preparation, and production development.
Outside production periods
Company Day becomes a combined technique class—a mental break from sustained choreography and an opportunity for cross-level growth, refinement, and community.
Training comes first.
Company dancers must enroll in Friday Company Day and at least one additional weekly technique class.
As performances approach, Company Day may become increasingly focused on choreography and rehearsal. The additional class ensures that dancers continue to maintain and develop their technique, strength, coordination, and physical readiness.
Performance is an extension of training—not a replacement for it.
Combined rehearsals when the production requires them
BalletCorps will make every effort to complete choreography, staging, and rehearsal work efficiently within the regular Friday schedule. This expanded schedule is a production contingency, not the normal weekly schedule.
Senior Company
Senior Company works independently on featured material, level-specific choreography, and production needs.
Full Company
Junior and Senior Company rehearse together for full-cast scenes, transitions, spacing, finales, and shared material.
Junior Company
Junior Company continues with its own choreography, staging, and level-specific rehearsal work.
This expanded Friday schedule may be used for approximately three to four weeks before a major production. Every effort will be made to keep expanded calls limited, purposeful, and efficient.
A brief final production push
During the final days before a performance, dancers may be called for two or three additional rehearsals, depending on the performance schedule.
These rehearsals will generally take place between 5:30 and 8:30 PM and may include spacing, technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and full production runs.
Limited, purposeful, and included in tuition
Younger dancers will be dismissed earlier whenever their portion of rehearsal is complete.
Expanded Friday rehearsals and tech-week calls will not result in additional tuition or rehearsal charges.
A range of artistic experiences
The Nutcracker and Spring Production are the two core academic-year Company performances. BalletCorps plans to add annual Fall and Winter productions once enrollment supports them.
The Nutcracker
The Nutcracker follows a defined production structure and a clear hierarchy of roles. Dancers rise toward the technical, artistic, and performance requirements of the ballet.
Roles are earned through readiness, consistent work, and demonstrated growth.
Spring Production
Spring choreography is selected or created around the strengths, abilities, and developmental stage of the dancers who will perform it.
The production celebrates each class’s progress and presents every group at its best.
Fall Performance
The Fall Performance will explore seasonal, atmospheric, and theatrical work, including the future development of BalletCorps’ original story-driven and darker-themed repertoire, such as Ghosts.
Winter Performance
The Winter Performance will serve as an open choreographic showcase featuring varied repertoire, new work, and artistic experimentation.
Aspiring student choreographers may be selected to create and stage work for the performance.
Guest Artist Performance
The Summer Intensive culminates in a performance featuring repertoire selected or created by BalletCorps guest artists, allowing dancers to experience new artistic voices and approaches.
Different productions ask different things of dancers.
BalletCorps productions offer a broad range of casting philosophies and artistic experiences across the season.
The Nutcracker
The production has defined role requirements and a structured casting hierarchy. Dancers rise to meet the technical, artistic, and performance demands of their roles.
Spring Production
Choreography is selected or created around the strengths and developmental stage of the dancers who will perform it.
Fall, Winter, and Summer Intensive performances fall between these approaches, combining established repertoire, newly created work, artistic experimentation, and choreography shaped around the dancers involved.
Company questions, answered
Are there additional Company or production fees?
No. Families pay only regular Company tuition. There are no additional participation, production, or rehearsal fees.
Are Saturday rehearsals required?
No routine Saturday rehearsals are required. Rehearsals are built into Friday Company Day so families can keep their weekends.
A rare emergency rehearsal may be scheduled if absolutely necessary, but Saturdays are not part of the normal production model.
Is every Company dancer guaranteed to perform?
Yes. Every dancer enrolled in Company will perform. Roles are assigned according to the needs of each production, the choreography, and each dancer’s readiness.
Specific roles are not guaranteed. Casting decisions are made at the sole discretion of the Director and/or guest choreographer.
Can a student take classes without joining Company?
Yes. Company participation is entirely optional. Every BalletCorps student receives focused, high-quality training and remains a valued part of the school whether or not they choose to perform.
What happens when a production is not in rehearsal?
Company Day becomes a combined technique class. These classes provide a break from sustained choreography while creating opportunities for refinement, cross-level learning, and community.
How much attendance is expected during productions?
Consistent attendance is essential. Company choreography depends on the full cast working together, so dancers should attend all scheduled Company Days and communicate unavoidable absences as early as possible.
Repeated or extended absences may affect casting or performance participation.
