BalletCorps Policies

Please review the policies below before registering for classes at BalletCorps. These guidelines help us maintain a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all dancers.

Uniform

Level-specific attire helps instructors observe alignment and technique.

Attendance

Consistency supports progress and readiness for advancement.

Photo Release

Media may be captured for studio, educational, and promotional use.

Injury

Dance carries inherent risk; families acknowledge and accept this risk.

Uniform Policy

BalletCorps maintains a structured dress code so that teachers can clearly observe alignment and technique during class.

Students are required to wear the designated BalletCorps uniform for their level. Uniform colors and specifications are outlined within each program level description. Please note that BalletCorps uniforms are currently under development, and until uniforms are completed, dancers are asked to wear a solid color leotard for class. Boys wear black tights and a fitted white or black t-shirt.

  • Hair must be neatly secured away from the face.
  • Jewelry should not be worn during class.
  • Ballet shoes must be properly fitted and appropriate for the dancer’s level.
  • Uniforms should be clean and well maintained.

Students who arrive without proper attire may be asked to observe class rather than participate.

Attendance Policy

Consistent attendance is essential for a dancer’s development.

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes whenever possible. If a dancer must miss a class due to illness or unavoidable circumstances, families are asked to notify the studio in advance when possible.

Frequent absences may affect a dancer’s progress and readiness for advancement within the program.

In cases of extended absence due to illness or injury, please contact the studio so that we can discuss appropriate accommodations.

Photo & Media Release

BalletCorps occasionally photographs or records classes, rehearsals, performances, and studio activities for educational, promotional, and archival purposes.

By registering for classes, families grant BalletCorps permission to use photographs or video that may include participating dancers for use in studio marketing and communications (website, social media, printed materials, and performance programs).

No dancer’s name or personal information will be shared publicly without permission.

If a family prefers that their dancer not appear in promotional materials, please notify the studio in writing.

Injury & Liability Policy

Dance is a physical activity that carries inherent risk of injury. BalletCorps strives to maintain a safe environment and provide proper instruction, but participation in dance classes is undertaken at the dancer’s own risk.

By enrolling in classes, dancers and their guardians acknowledge that:

  • Physical activity involves risk of injury.
  • BalletCorps and its instructors are not liable for injuries sustained during class or studio activities.
  • Dancers should inform instructors of any existing injuries or physical limitations.

If a dancer becomes injured during class, parents or guardians will be notified as soon as possible. Families are responsible for ensuring that dancers are physically able to participate in dance training.
